Message from Dean Student Welfare/Affairs
- The Office of Student Welfare/Affairs is dedicated to ensuring the overall well-being and holistic development of students. Our primary focus is to provide a supportive, inclusive, and student-friendly environment where every student feels valued and motivated to achieve their goals.
- Along with academic excellence, we emphasize personal growth through co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, including leadership, cultural, sports, and community engagement programs. Various support services such as counseling, mentoring, scholarships, health care, and grievance redressal mechanisms are made available to address the diverse needs of students.
- We encourage students to actively participate in campus life, develop essential life skills, and uphold values of responsibility, integrity, and social harmony. The office remains committed to guiding and supporting students at every step of their academic journey and beyond.
- Together, we aim to create a vibrant, safe, and enriching campus experience that prepares our students to succeed in a dynamic and global society.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure discipline, proper conduct, and a ragging-free environment on campus.
- Engage with parents and guardians to discuss students’ academic progress, challenges, and overall development.
- Facilitate student counseling, mentoring, and guidance services to support academic and personal growth.
- Promote extra-curricular, co-curricular, and cultural activities to encourage holistic student development.
- Organize sports competitions regularly to foster participation and ensure representation at the university level.
- Oversee merit-based and need-based scholarships for deserving students.
- Coordinate with alumni for institutional growth, networking, and student support initiatives.
- Encourage and strengthen student clubs, chapters, and associations for professional and personal skill enhancement.
- Plan and conduct technical, scientific, and industry-supported activities, including seminars, workshops, and laboratory development.
- Handle administrative responsibilities such as certificate verification and other tasks assigned for the effective functioning of the Cell/Committee.

- Blood donation awareness program using friends2support.org at SJMIT Campus on 25-03-2019 120 participants.
- Hospital visit for first year B.E. students on 21-08-2019 at BMCH & RC, Chitradurga.
- COVID-19 test for the students on 10-03-2020 CIVIL Seminar hall, SJMIT Chitradurga for 300 students.
- BLOOD DONATION CAMP on 18-02-2020 at CIVIL Seminar hall, SJMIT Chitradurga more than 25 students donated the blood.
- VACCINATION DRIVE on 07-07-2021 at, SJMIT Office for 400 students and college staff got vaccinated
- BLOOD DONATION CAMP on 10-11-2022 at CIVIL Seminar hall, SJMIT Chitradurga more than 45 students donated the blood.
- Hospital visit for first year B.E. students on 11-09-2023 at BMCH & RC, Chitradurga.
- Blood Donation Program on 11-12-2023 at Sir M.V hall, SJMIT, Chitradurga.
- AWARENESS PROGRAM ABOUT FIRST AID, GAS LEAKAGE PROTECTION, SNAKE BITE AND SOCIAL SERVICES on 14-09-2023 at CIVIL Seminar hall, SJMIT Chitradurga for 200 students.
- Students are participated in 22nd VTU youth festival Yuvothsava-2023.
- Students are participated in different sports and cultural activities in college fest.
- “LIFE SAVING SKILLS AND AWARENESS PROGRAM ALONG WITH DEMONSTRATION” on 19-09-2024 at: CIVIL Seminar hall, SJMIT Chitradurga.175 students are participated.
