An Awareness Program by Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell (ASHC) in association with IQAC

SJM Institute of Technology, Chitradurga, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), successfully organized an Awareness Program titled “Saksham: Empowering Students for a Gender Sensitive and Harassment-Free Campus” on 26 December 2025 at Sir M. V. Hall.

The program was conducted under the initiative of the Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell (ASHC) with the objective of sensitizing students about gender equality, respectful behaviour, legal rights, and mechanisms available to prevent and address sexual harassment within the campus.

Chief Guest

The session was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Rashmi B M, BMCH, Chitradurga, who served as the Chief Guest. In her insightful address, she highlighted:

  • The importance of creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful academic environment.

  • Awareness of sexual harassment laws and institutional policies.

  • The role of students in building a gender-sensitive culture.

  • Practical steps to prevent harassment and support victims.

Her talk inspired students to become responsible individuals who actively contribute towards maintaining dignity and equality in the campus.
