Grievance Redressal Committee

A Grievances Redressal Committee has been established in our institution to settle genuine grievances of students related to academic and non-academic matters, such as assessment, victimization, attendance, charging of fees, conducting of examinations, harassment by fellow students or teachers etc., if and when they arise.

Objectives:
  • To develop an organizational framework to resolve genuine Grievances of students.
  • To provide the students access to immediate, hassle free resource to have their grievances redressed.
  • To enlighten the students on their duties and responsibilities to access benefits due under the polices.
  • To establish structured interactions with students to elicit information on their expectation.
  • To make the institution student-friendly.
Procedure for Redressal of Students Grievances by SGRC:
  • An aggrieved student may submit an application seeking redressal of grievance through online portal.
  • On receipt of an online complaint, the institution shall refer the complaint to the appropriate student’s Grievance Redressal Committee, along with its comments within 15 days of receipt of complaint on the online portal.
  • The SGRC, as the case may be, shall fix a date for hearing the complaint which shall be communicated to the institution and the aggrieved student.
  • An aggrieved student may appear in person or authorize a representative to present the case.
  • While dealing with the complaint, the Committee shall observe the law of natural justice and hear the complainant and concerned people.
  • If the student is not satisfied with the redressal offered by the committee or the grievances not resolved by the SGRC within the time period, may be referred to the Ombudsperson by the university.
  • The institution shall extend co-operation to the Ombudsperson in early redressal of grievances.
  • The institution shall comply with the recommendations of the Ombudsperson.
  • The Ombudsperson may recommend appropriate action against the complainant, where a complaint is found to be false or frivolous.

Procedure for Redressal of Faculty / Staff members Grievances by GRC:
  • A complaint from an aggrieved Faculty / Staff member relating to the institution shall be addressed to the chairperson, Grievance Redressal committee (GRC) at the institution level.
  • An online portal can be used to submit the grievances.
  • The GRC shall send its report with recommendations, if any, to the concerned university and a copy thereof to the aggrieved faculty / staff member, within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of the complaint.
