S. J. M. Institute of Technology, Chitradurga, in association with the IQAC, observed National Anti-Ragging Day on 12 August 2026 and Anti-Ragging Week from 12 August to 18 August 2026, promoting the message “Youth Against Ragging – #YaARIYouthAgainstRagging.”
The initiative aimed to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of ragging and to strengthen the commitment towards maintaining a safe, respectful, inclusive and ragging-free campus environment.

The institution reiterated that ragging is a crime and that every student has a responsibility to prevent, report and oppose ragging. Students were encouraged to remain vigilant, support one another and contribute towards creating a campus where everyone feels safe and respected.
